Dr Lana McClements is an internationally recognised women’s health leader, biomedical innovator, and strategic advisor with more than two decades of experience spanning healthcare, life sciences, biotechnology, diagnostics, and research translation.
Operating at the intersection of science, innovation, and commercialisation, Lana works with organisations seeking to shape the future of women’s health, accelerate healthcare innovation, and navigate emerging opportunities across FemTech, precision medicine, diagnostics, and advanced biomedical technologies.

A Track Record Of Innovation
Lana’s work has contributed to significant advances in women’s health and translational medicine.
She led the discovery and translation of novel blood-based biomarkers for preeclampsia into innovative diagnostic technologies, including laboratory and point-of-care testing platforms. Her research has helped advance earlier detection strategies for one of the most serious complications of pregnancy.
Recognising the need for better pregnancy research models, Lana pioneered the development of 3D bioprinted first-trimester placental organoids (“mini-placentas”), creating new opportunities for biomarker discovery, therapeutic development, and precision medicine in pregnancy.
Her broader innovation portfolio includes patient-derived cardiac technologies for the early detection of cardiovascular disease in women, the development of novel therapeutic strategies targeting pregnancy and cardiovascular disorders, and the commercialisation of quantum-based imaging technologies for pathology.
Through this work, Lana has built a reputation for translating complex science into scalable healthcare solutions that deliver measurable impact.
